I am passionate about keeping food simple and allowing the quality of the produce we work with to do the talking. It was essential for the success of the restaurant to engage a Head Chef who is as passionate about local produce
and traditional breeds, who believes like me in understanding how the animals are raised to create the flavour and to ensure the sustainability of
historic local Devon breeds.

Our New Head Chef Elly Wentworth, after two weeks at the helm is thriving, showing why she impressed judges Marcus Wareing and Monica Galletti during her time on Masterchef:The Professionals 2016
Elly has no shortage of competition experience.She competed in the prestigious Royal Academy of Culinary Arts awards and was one of only four chef's to be given an Award of Excellence.
With the history of The Angel, under the great success and leadership of Joyce Molineux we very much wanted the next chapter of The Angel to be led by one of the top female rising culinary stars, and in a male dominated industry Elly hopes to mentor and nuture many more female chefs come.
Craig Akehurst – Pastry Chef
Trained at Westminster College and then gaining valuable experience working in award winning restaurants in the capital.
