Our Head Chef

Elly Wentworth

Having grown up in South West, Elly Wentworth has been cooking since she was 13 and after studying Professional Cookery at City College Plymouth.

She first worked at the 3 AA rosette Tanners Restaurant in Plymouth under Chris Tanner and James Tanner and went on to eventually work in 3 One Michelin star kitchens - The Elephant under Simon Hulstone, The Bybrook at the Manor House under Richard Davies and Restaurant Hywell Jones at Lucknam Park.

With that wealth of experience, Elly believes that accomplishments only come with hard work.

She has proven that having competed in the prestigious Royal Academy of Culinary Arts awards, Elly was one of only four chefs to be given an Award of Excellence and coming runner up in 2016 Professional Masterchef.

At The Angel Elly is focusing on using Local ingredients in the best possible way, Maximising the flavour, Creating a unique dining experience.

With the history of The Angel, under the great success and leadership of Joyce Molyneux we very much wanted the next chapter of The Angel to be led by one of the top female rising culinary stars.

Jordan Wiltshire - Restaurant Manager

Originally from Sydney Australia. Jordan Moved to the UK in 2000.

After studying at South Downs College, Jordan had the privilege of completing Ten out Ten Hospitality Management Training Scheme working at some great properties including Rick Stein's, Lucknam Park, Chewton Glen, Penny Hill Park Hotel and Spa and Mallory Court.

Jordans says he “was lucky to have worked with, and met many passionate people” and this experience has assured him that the wine world is his life’s ultimate passion.

Craig Akehurst – Pastry Chef

Trained at Westminster College and then gaining valuable experience working in award winning restaurants in the capital.

We are delighted to have a traditional Pastry Chef as part of our team.
